2022 Round Rock - Merlot

Sultry and spiced with plums, currants, and black cherry. A hint of vanilla bean, blackberry jam and sassafras comes up with air. The palate is luscious, with good volume and fine but present tannins. The finish is spiced but sophisticated and the wine will continue to become more resolved and hedonistic with time.
A new wine showcasing the sultry nature of Washington Merlot. Fermented in a combination of concrete and stainless steel, Round Rock is a blend of Merlot from three different AVA’s, with Southwind providing a plush mixture of red and black fruits with spice, Boushey giving vibrant red fruits of raspberry and strawberry puree and silky texture and Weinbau providing some structure and cocoa powdered plums. A little Cabernet Franc is thrown in for dried herbs and length while a little Cabernet Sauvignon adds depth to the mid palate.
